What the Architect exams test
Both exams are about designing Claude systems that stay reliable once real people use them. Foundations covers end-to-end systems and agentic architectures. Professional goes further, into enterprise implementation, governance, security, and scale.
Expect scenario questions: a system, a constraint, and several designs that would all work on a whiteboard. The job is to pick the one that holds up.

How prep works here
Sessions run in person at 1226 Olive St and follow the official exam guide. Most of the time goes to building: you design, break, and fix real Claude systems in labs rather than reading slides.
Before the exam you sit timed practice under exam conditions, so the 120 minutes feel familiar on the day.
Who should take it
Tech leads, solutions architects, and senior engineers who decide how Claude fits into a product or a client's stack. If you mostly build features on the API, the Developer exam (CCDV-F) may be the better first step.
